Pakistan Shaheens' left-arm spinner Mehran Mumtaz shared how he executed his plans to take two crucial wickets on day two of the first four-dayer against Zimbabwe A.
Mumtaz bagged two wickets as Shaheens reduced Zimbabwe A to 112-4 at stumps on the second day.
"The wicket was flat and my plan was to bowl stump to stump. I got wickets due to my variations," said Mumtaz who finished day two with the figures of 2-32.
"Our fast bowler bowled really well. We will try to restrict them tomorrow as well so that our team takes a good lead," he added.
The young spinner was the lone wicket-taker for Shaheens in the first innings on day two.
Right-handed opening batter Omair Bin Yousuf smashed his maiden first-class double hundred.
Resuming at the overnight score of 352-2, Shaheens got their in-form batter Yousuf in fine rhythm.
Omair, who returned unbeaten on 161 runs on the first day, managed to add 89 runs to his overnight score. He brought up his maiden double hundred off 342 balls including 27 boundaries and a maximum.
The right-handed batter was on song as he helped Shaheens post mammoth 521-3 after which they declared their first innings.
International-capped Hussain Talat remained not out for 51 runs and his contribution was worthy for the Shaheens.
